Slush Editions
SLUSH EDITIONS is an imprint of Ellen Lupton, a writer, designer,
and curator working in Baltimore and New York. Sexy Librarian
is Slush Edition’s inaugural publication. Lupton’s
recent
projects include Indie Publishing (Princeton Architectural Press),
a book that chronicles the trials and tribulations, do’s and don’ts,
of a variety of independent publishing ventures, including this one.
Lupton discovered Sexy Librarian when she attended an exhibition
by Julia Weist at Cooper Union. The exhibition featured a wall of
rejection letters for a proposed romance about a librarian
who leaves her sophisticated New York life to work in the heartland.
The rejection letters inspired Lupton to publish the book.
Sexy Librarian is designed by Kristian Bjornard.

slush The terms “slush” and “slush pile” are used in the publishing
industry to refer to unsolicited manuscripts. The term is also a slang
combination of the terms “slut” and “lush”; a slush is a promiscuous
alcoholic person. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slush
