About the Authors
JULIA WEIST is a New York based artist, author, and librarian. At the age of
twenty-three, Julia’s novel, Sexy Librarian, was published by Ellen Lupton/
Slush Editions. The book is now in the collection of the MoMA Library, the
Brooklyn Museum Library, Harvard University Library, the New York Public
Library and others. Julia is the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships,
including the NYAEA Artist Welfare Fund Prize, and was nominated for the
2009 Brendan Gill Prize. Julia has recently exhibited/presented in NYC at
Art in General, Printed Matter, and P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center. In 2010
she helped develop the New Museum of Contemporary Art’s first digital
archive and she remains interested in the relationship between information
literacy, literature, and art.

JENNIFER TOBIAS is the Reader Services Librarian at
The Museum of Modern Art, New York, and a student in the Art History
program at the City University of New York Graduate Center. She
has lectured and published on art, design, and library studies.
