Catalog record
Sexy Librarian is one lucky book! It received artisanal cataloging from
SHERMAN CLARKE, widely respected art book cataloger and recipient
of the Art Libraries Society of North America’s 2006 Distinguished
Service Award.
This custom-made catalog record takes the place of the standard Library
of Congress Cataloging-In-Publication (CIP) data, which is not available
to first-time publishers. Sherman’s record includes more detail than a
standard record, and it even includes (in a leap of cataloging expressionism)
alternate call numbers.
What happens next?
Sexy Librarian will also be lucky enough to be added to THE MoMA LIBRARY‘s
artists’ books collection.
Once the book is added, Sherman’s high-level record becomes part of
the OCLC cooperative catalog. There it can be used by other libraries.
